Jeff was an eight time varsity letterman in tennis and played #1 singles and was selected team MVP all 8 seasons. During his Nanuet career he was named to 5 All-County First Teams and 2 All-County 2nd Teams while earning All-Sectional representation 2 times. Jeff won the first indoor PSAL Championship Tennis Tournament in the Fall of 1965 finishing a 16-0 season and as co-captain led the team to a perfect 12-0 record and the PSAL Championship, only the second championship in NHS’s history. He posted a senior year (Fall and Spring) record of

31-2 with his two losses coming against his Pearl River friend and rival whom he beat 4 times during that year. Jeff also won the Rockland County under 16 and under 18 tennis tournaments during his high school career representing Rockland in the NY Jaycee State tournament. He was also co-captain of the 1965-1966 varsity basketball team. Jeff was a member of the National Honor Society and the Acapella Choir, which earned New York States’ highest mark during State auditions. He also served his class as President during his Freshman and Junior years and Vice President during his Sophomore and Senior years. Jeff was also awarded first place by the Pearl River chapter of the New York State Elks for Leadership during his high school career.

Jeff and a classmate became the first NHS students to attend Brown University where he continued his tennis career. He was a member of the freshman team and then earned 3 varsity letters and was co-captain of the team his senior year playing in the difficult Division I Eastern Tennis League which included the Ivy League plus Army and Navy. Jeff was a member of the 3rd place doubles team in the New England tournament. After Brown Jeff graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business with highest honors and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma the National Business Honor Society.

Jeff’s business career includes over 30 years’ experience as an EVP and CFO with 23 of those years working for public companies. During his career, Jeff has been directly responsible for closing over $1.4 billion in transactions, including 4 ini- tial public offerings (IPOs). As EVP and CFO at an internet services company, Jeff completed a $186 million underwritten public offering and more than $70 million in private placement funding. During Jeff’s tenure at a conglomerate, the company brought the popular Klondike ice cream bar to the national market and he led the spin-off of Klondike as a separate public company.

Outside of his high school and college tennis, Jeff continued to stay active in tennis. He and his brother won the Rockland County Doubles tournament and were runners up 4 times. Jeff also captained his United States Tennis Association teams to 16 North Carolina Capital Region titles and won 5 North Carolina State Championships before he retired from competitive tennis 2 years ago.

Jeff’s 3 children-Jesse, Jamie and Rachel-graduated from Clarkstown North High School and were accomplished tennis players as well, each earning multiple All-County, All-Conference and All-Sectional selection while Jesse was also a 3 time All-State performer. They all live in Brooklyn with Jeff’s 5 granddaughters.
